For 32 years, I've worked with the principals of the nation's most successful advisory firms — almost always after they'd already made it. Not the ones in trouble. The ones who had run out of game. Here are a few things I am most proud of:
- My average client relationship is 10+ years. I have some that are over 30 years old.
- I have created over $4.5 billion of additioal enterpise value for my clients.
- My clients have added over $50 billion of additional advisory assets.
- I have helped over 2,500 practices in my career.

Some clients have been with me for thirty years. Named one of the top four coaches in financial services by Registered Rep (2012). Named one of the industry's top troubleshooters by Registered Rep (2000). The only coach named to both lists.
Nothing is wrong. That's the problem
The firm is profitable. The team runs. Clients stay. By every measure you set for yourself fifteen years ago, you're finished — you hit it.
And somewhere in the last two or three years, the work stopped requiring anything of you.
You're not burned out. You're not in trouble. You're comfortable, and you're bored, and you have never once said that out loud — because the person who built this doesn't get to say that.
So you set targets that are really maintenance. You tell the story of the build more often than the story of what's next. You have capacity — money, time, standing, relationships — sitting idle against nothing in particular. You don't need a fix. You need a bigger game.
There's no presenting complaint.
Coaching, consulting, and peer groups — all of it is built for firms with a problem. A problem creates urgency. Urgency makes a program work: the client is already moving, and the curriculum just points the motion in the right direction.
You don't have a problem. You have a plateau, and a plateau is the most stable thing in business. Nothing external is going to move you off it. No quarter is bad enough. No client leaves loudly enough. You could run this exact firm for another decade, and nobody would say a word. A program cannot create urgency for a leader who doesn't have any. Only a person who won't let you off the hook can. That's the entire reason this work is personal, why the engagements are limited, and why it costs what it costs.
